What we do
The Biomedical Resource Center (BRC) provides core support for animal-based programs. The BRC employs a facility manager and full-time veterinarian who work to sustain a high-quality environment which includes state of the art animal husbandry and veterinary medical care. BRC staff are available for consultation regarding veterinary services and animal welfare.

Dr. Allen received her DVM degree in 1996 from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She then worked in private practice and academia until she entered the field of laboratory science in 2002 by way of a residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She has worked in the field of laboratory medicine for 20 years while simultaneously conducting her own research projects resulting in several publications on microvasculature dynamics. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine and a Certified Professional IACUC Administrator.
